Carpet is one of the best flooring options you have because it plays an important role in the overall design of the space, but it’s also a very good thermal insulator.

A soft carpet offers a warm and enjoyable feeling, and it’s a comfortable place to play for children without the fear that they might feel cold.

The list of advantages that carpet has can go on and on, but you also must be aware of the most common types of carpet and where to install them.

Here are the four most common types of carpet and some advice on when to choose them:

Pattern

Pattern carpets can add character to your home, introducing style to stairs, halls or landings or adding an element of fun to a bedroom. Pattern carpet is also great at hiding marks.

Loop Pile

Usually, these carpets have a rugged exterior, made from uncut loops of yarn, the loops can be of varying lengths to create a textured effect. Loop pile is known for its durability making it the perfect carpet for high traffic areas.

Twist Carpet

Is the most common carpet being produced today, it is a cut pile made from twisted fibres. The twisted fibres have a coarse finish leaving an even surface that’s springy underfoot. It’s a hardwearing carpet suitable for most areas of the home including, hall, stairs, landings and main rooms.
